Automatic Door Bottoms

Legacy’s patent-pending automatic door bottom is primarily installed at the bottom of a door. The product is offered in a variety of anodized and powder coated options. The unit is mainly used to protect against air, fire, smoke, and noise. Many of Legacy’s units are fire rated and sound rated. The seal within the automatic door bottom is concealed when the door is open. When the door closes, the brass hex nut plunger is mechanically activated by hitting against either the frame or the pre-installed seal. The gasket then drops down in a scissor-like motion creating a continuous seal along the floor. The self-leveling feature allows for a tight seal even when the floor is not parallel to the door.

Electric door bottoms provide a unique solution to areas that require air flow on a regular basis but the use of door sealing during emergencies. This product works for doors that need air transfer for maintaining temperature or air flow. Using a switch or push plate, provided by Deltrex USA, the door bottom can be activated during situations that require a complete seal, such as a fire.

Kerf Gasketing

Kerf Gasketing is customizable and specifiable. Kerf gasketing products are mainly used on wooden frames. These products are primarily extruded in silicone and can, therefore, be extruded in multiple different colors. Legacy’s kerf gasketing is used to protect the opening against water, draft, and sound.

PSA Applied Gasketing

Pressure sensitive adhesives designed for easy use on the back of gaskets, assembly components, and custom products. Legacy Manufacturing offers premium pile brushes, Roll-formed, spring bronze material, silicone, and foam gasketing options with PSA backing.

Sponge Rubber

Legacy’s compression seals are manufactured in our Ohio extrusion facility. Extruded out of a sponge neoprene, this product can be used in a variety of applications that require excellent compression against uneven surfaces. Legacy also offers custom solutions for new or existing openings.

Architectural Door Seals

Used in conjunction with automatic door bottoms, architectural door seals act as the most important component in effectively sealing a door. They are available in many different forms and can be manufactured from raw aluminum, bronze, PVC, or neoprene. All of our seals are manufactured locally in the Bronx and will achieve similar fire, smoke, and acoustical ratings as our automatic door bottoms. They can either be fixed or adjustable and are used primarily in commercial facilities such as hospitals, schools, and government buildings.

Finger Guard Protection

The finger guard protection by Legacy provides a safe, reliable solution to preventing door injuries. It is a discreet and aesthetically pleasing solution as an integral part of the door system. They can be installed in new and retrofit applications. It is available made of solid neoprene rubber extrusions (SRE) and in an antibacterial rubber extrusion (LAB).

Rising hygienic standards have an increasing demand for practical, antimicrobial applications in many facilities including hospitals, nursing homes, schools, doctors’ offices, veterinary facilities, areas where a high volume of people coming in contact with surfaces.

The antibacterial grade of silicone rubber (LAB) extruded by us provides long lasting protection from E .Coli and MRSA, bacteria, fungi, molds, and other microorganisms. Our technology provides natural resistance to abrasion, washing, and exposure to UV radiation and various chemicals. It also has full http://www.fda.gov/ accreditation and it is used in various applications writhing the food and beverage industry. The rubber is available in white standard and can be created in other custom colors when specified.

Continuous Hinges

Continuous hinges distribute the weight of the door along the entire length of its frame by reducing the high stress normally associated with butt hinge applications. It also keeps the door in constant alignment, eliminating the chance of door sag. These characteristics make continuous hinges suitable for high-use, high-traffic doors, and acoustical applications.

Continuous hinges utilize a gear system held in place by a full-length cover channel and rotate on a series of bearings. The design of a continuous hinge eliminates the spacing between the hinges, which helps prevents fingers from being pinched, making it a safer device than traditional hinges.

Electric Hinges

This hinge maintains a fluid door swing while, at the same time, evenly spreads stress along the full height of the door. The 1027 is removable without the need to re-hang the door.

Acoustical Cam Lift Hinges

The mortise cam lift hinge is a high precession investment stainless steel casting. It is designed to move the door upwards while swinging the door open and in reverse, it will bring the door down when closing it. The cam function of the hinge is to prevent the door from contacting the frame while opening. Cam lift hinges will not bind door closures when doors are hung within accepted industry standards.

This specially-designed movement of the hinge, lifting and lowering the door with the swing helps the door achieving higher STC rating. This occurs due to greater contact with the acoustical gasketing, making a better and tighter door seal.

Door Threshold / Saddle

Browse our commercial grade bronze and aluminum door thresholds in a variety of custom options, sizes, and styles. Our thresholds/saddles are applied to doorways to insulate the gap between door and floor or to create a transition between two-floor surfaces. Legacy manufacturing offers several options that allow the basic product to be customized to our clients’ specifications, including an innovative epoxy feature, which will provide anti-slip protection for exterior doors, photoluminescent and lead shields. In addition, we can provide a number of finishes such as polished bronze, that are frequently requested for openings where aesthetics play an important role. Threshold Categories include Aluminum & Bronze, Adjustable, Rabbeted Thresholds, Non-Slip Stair Nosing, Carpet Saddles, and Custom.

Legacy Manufacturing offers a wide array of “Adjustable Thresholds” which can be mixed and matched to solve a variety of sill conditions. The product is mainly offered in aluminum however Legacy does have some of these profiles in an architectural bronze as well. Architects can find specifiable options with different finishes and fillers based on the condition of the opening. Some of the options include a rubber grip and an epoxy abrasive filler. If you can’t find it anywhere else, you can find it at Legacy!

Thermal break material is used where there is an opposition in temperature from one side of an opening to the other. Our thermal break thresholds are fitted with our own rubber composite at the center, designed to inhibit the transmission of thermal energy through the more conductive materials.

Intumescent Strips

INTUFX (Intumescent Fire Expandable) Legacy’s intumescent material expands rapidly when exposed to heat or high temperatures. This stops fire expansion through the gaps around doors. Type #3 expands up to 30 times and Type #4 expands up to 120 times.

Other expansion rates and material sizes are available! Please contact us for other non-standard option.

Acoustical Soundproofing Insulation (ACS)

The Acoustical Soundproofing Insulation (ACS) material is a product of advanced design made in a sheet form, with a combination of sound absorbing and sound deadening characteristics for improved STC ratings.

The natural fiber used in this product is found in volcanic rocks and is known as a “21st-century nonpolluting green material”. It is 100% natural and inert with no toxic reactions to air or water. ACS is non-combustible, non-explosive, non-carcinogenic, and non-toxic. In addition, this product is biodegradable with a low carbon footprint. A high melting point and low smoke index make this product safe to use in almost any location where fire codes are a concern. It is commonly used in CLMD (constrained layer mass damping) applications. This material is washable when used in exposed areas, such as restaurants, public spaces, temporary applications, hanging baffles, etc. It is mold-resistant, mildew-resistant, and flame resistant.

EMI/RFI openings

System #6090EMI groups a variety of Legacy’s high-quality sealing system to ensure a full blockage of both electromagnetic and radio frequency interference. This system is generally used in government openings, EMI rooms in hospitals, high-security openings, and other similar applications. The aluminum products within this system have an iridate coating which makes certain of electrical conductivity. In addition, the extruded rubber has a specific component also ensuring that the rubber is electrically conductive. Legacy is happy to work with manufacturers that are interested in implementing this system into their portfolio of offerings.

Door Flood Barrier Shields

Legacy’s Door Flood Barrier utilizes an innovative design that provides a removable, lightweight, cost-efficient, and reliable flood protection for openings compatible with most buildings. This product is engineered to provide a watertight guard to protect and prevent water ingress through doors and windows.

Compression seals, made of close cell rubber extrusion (SPR), are used on the bottom and the sides of the guard. This SPR aids in creating a watertight seal around the perimeter of the product. It has a sponge-like interior that is best for compression against uneven surfaces and has a skin on the exterior that prevents water leakage. The aluminum channels used in the Flood-Guard are made of extruded aluminum, and the guard itself is made of 5052 type marine grade aluminum.

The guard is used to deflect unwanted water from penetrating doors and windows. It is also removable and can be conveniently stored. Upon news of rain or flooding, simply drop down the guard into the pre-installed aluminum brackets and hand tighten the screws.

Large opening, garage doors, standard commercial openings, and residential openings are all ideal applications for this Legacy product.
